Sony said it will not allow its disc replicating subsidiary, Sony DADC, to handle adult film titles. Sony DADC will not duplicate any movies with certain rating or passed by a local motion picture association where its operate. This doesn't mean adult industry can't produce their product on a blu-ray disc, they just simply have to find another companies to produce their product in bulk.
This move will make Sony's format backer miss out on a lucrative market, estimated at $57 billion and bigger than Hollywood, and could eventually make Blu-ray loses out to HD DVD in the battle for the next-generation DVD format. |
